I am excited to have the privilege to work with our 7th through 12th grade students at North Butler High School. The Bearcat Success Center offers many valuable opportunities for our students.
Students are chosen to participate in the Bearcat Success Center for various reasons, and can be recommended by their classroom teachers. Identified students will come to my classroom for one study hall per day, and others will come every other day opposite Physical Education or Band/Vocal. Students may be identified based on attendance, grades/grade point, etc.
Once a student is identified, I work with each individual to set goals for the school year. We will look over their grades and/or grade point from last school year, and decide what they will work toward for this year. Then I discuss using a planner and organizational skills to use in their classes. I will also assist students with monitoring their grades. Each student will have access to their own grades, and we will track not only their grades, but their assignment completion for each course as well. During their class period in the Bearcat Success Center, students will be assisted with homework, study for quizzes or tests, as well as receive instruction in study and organizational skills.
I look forward to getting to know all 7th through 12th grade students this year! Please do not hesitate to email or call me with questions or concerns. My email address is [email protected], and our school phone number is (641) 816-5631.
